What Happens After You Buy a Golf Scooter? A Guide to Servicing, Repairs & Support

If you're thinking about investing in an electric golf scooter, there's a good chance you've already compared battery range, motor power and weight. They're all important factors, but one question often comes up that doesn't always get talked about enough:

What happens if my scooter ever needs a repair?

It's one of the questions we're asked most often at Only Birdies, and it's a fair one. A golf scooter is an investment, so you want to know that if something ever does go wrong, there's someone there to help.

The good news is that most scooters give years of reliable service with very little maintenance. But like any electric product, there may eventually come a time when a part wears out, something needs adjusting or a repair is required. That's where good after-sales support makes all the difference.

Buying the Scooter Is Only the Beginning

We don't see our job as simply selling a golf scooter.

Our aim is to make sure you continue enjoying it long after it's been delivered. Whether that's answering a question, supplying a replacement part or carrying out a repair, we want every customer to know there's someone at the end of the phone who understands the product and is happy to help.

We believe that's just as important as the specifications printed on the product page.

Our Dedicated Engineer

To support our customers, we have our own dedicated engineer based in Shropshire who carries out warranty work, servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs.

Having someone who knows our scooters inside and out means we're able to diagnose problems properly and carry out repairs using genuine parts wherever possible.

It's something we've invested in because we believe after-sales support shouldn't be an afterthought.

Expanding Our Support Network

While our workshop is based in Shropshire, we know our customers are spread across the UK.

That's why we're beginning to build a wider service network. We've recently partnered with PGM Services in Mid Wales to provide another trusted location for servicing and repairs, and we plan to continue expanding this network over time.

Rather than rushing into partnerships, we're taking the time to work with businesses that share the same standards of workmanship and customer care that we expect ourselves.

Our aim is simple: to make owning a Birdie scooter as straightforward as possible, wherever you're based.

Genuine Spare Parts When You Need Them

Keeping customers on the course is always our priority.

We hold a range of genuine spare parts here in Shropshire, allowing us to deal with many repairs as quickly as possible. As with any specialist product, there may occasionally be parts that we don't keep on the shelf, particularly for less common repairs.

If that's the case, we'll order the required part directly from the manufacturer and keep you updated throughout the process. We'd always rather be honest about lead times than make promises we can't keep.

Not Every Problem Needs a Repair

One thing we've learnt over the years is that many issues are much simpler than people first think.

Sometimes it's a loose connection, a setting that needs adjusting or a component that just needs tightening.

If you ever experience a problem, we'll normally start by asking a few questions and, where helpful, ask you to send us a photo or short video. Quite often we're able to identify the issue straight away and talk you through the solution without your scooter needing to come back to us.

Our priority is always getting you back out on the course as quickly as possible.

Looking After Your Scooter

Like any piece of equipment that's used regularly outdoors, a little routine care can help keep your scooter performing at its best.

We'd always recommend:

  • Cleaning your scooter after particularly muddy rounds.
  • Charging the battery in line with the manufacturer's guidance.
  • Regularly checking that bolts and moving parts remain secure.
  • Getting in touch if something doesn't feel quite right, rather than continuing to use it.

A few minutes of routine maintenance can often prevent bigger issues later on.

Why We Believe After-Sales Support Matters

When you're comparing golf scooters, it's easy to get caught up in the specifications. Battery range, motor power, weight and folding size all matter, but they're only part of the decision.

It's also worth thinking about what happens a year or two down the line. If you need a replacement part, some advice or your scooter develops a fault, do you know who you're going to call?

That's where good after-sales support really comes into its own. Having someone at the end of the phone who knows the product and genuinely wants to help can make all the difference, especially when you've invested in something you plan to use for years.

Final Thoughts

Hopefully, you'll never need a repair.

But if you do, it's reassuring to know that you're buying from a company that's committed to supporting you long after delivery day.

At Only Birdies, we're continually investing in better after-sales support, from our dedicated engineer and genuine spare parts to expanding our network of trusted service partners across the UK.

Buying a golf scooter isn't just about choosing the right product. It's also about choosing a retailer you can rely on if you ever need advice, servicing or repairs in the years ahead.
