Frequently Asked Questions – Scooters & Golf Buggies
Can Birdie golf scooters handle hilly UK courses?

Do hills drain the battery faster?
Climbing hills does use more battery power, but Birdie scooters are fitted with large-capacity lithium batteries designed for mixed terrain. Most golfers comfortably complete 18 holes, even on hilly courses, when starting with a full charge.
Are electric golf scooters allowed on UK golf courses?
Many UK courses now allow electric golf scooters, although policies vary by club. Some require permission in advance or restrict use during very wet conditions. It’s always best to check with your course before playing.
Are golf scooters safe to use downhill?
Yes. Birdie scooters include features such as electronic braking, auto-hold and controlled acceleration, which help provide stability and confidence when travelling downhill.
How much assembly is required when the scooter arrives?
Birdie scooters arrive mostly pre-assembled. Some accessories, such as bag plates or umbrella holders, need to be fitted, but this is straightforward and can be done at home without specialist tools.
What warranty do Birdie golf scooters come with?
All Birdie scooters come with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. If an issue arises, we provide replacement parts, arrange collection for repair, or replace the unit if it cannot be fixed.
Are golf scooters a good alternative to hiring a buggy?
For regular golfers, yes. Buggy hire typically costs £25–£40 per round, which quickly adds up. Owning a golf scooter can be more cost-effective over time while giving you flexibility to play whenever you want.
